Loose belt lacings can wear these links down to be paper-thin and eventually break. Trim off loose hooks at the edges of the belt and ensure it tracks on center. When replacing a distributor belt, don't bother removing the spring - just slide the Carl Klauck Distributor Tool 000 200 000 between this link and the casting. On both sides of the Tracking Bracket, these links pivot to ensure proper belt operation.
